JIM MURRAY SILVERROCK ALUMNI CHALLENGE, SUNDAY, JANUARY 15 AT 6 P.M.

Former Dodger Great and Hall of Famer Duke Snider Honored During One-Hour Special Which Will Air Six Times Over the Next Four Weeks

LA QUINTA, CA. – The Arnold Palmer Classic Course at SilverRock Resort will be featured during a one-hour special when Fox Sports Net West 2 airs the Jim Murray SilverRock Alumni Challenge, Sunday, January 15, at 6 p.m. Former Dodger outfielder and Hall of Famer Duke Snider was honored during the charity tournament which was played December 12-13.

Barry Lebrock and Robin Chamberlain are the announcers for the event which will air six times over a four-week period. In addition to the January 15 date, other airings of the tournament will be Sunday, January 22 at 6 p.m., Sunday, February 5 at 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 8 at 3 p.m., Thursday, February 9 at 4 p.m., and Sunday, February 11 at 11 a.m. More than 5.5 million homes will have access to the show.

The 36-hole golf tournament was produced for television by Fourteenth Colony Productions. Besides an interview with Snider, the show will also highlight interviews and golf from some of the celebrities in the field which included Smokey Robinson, Doug Sanders, Chase Utley, Tom Dreesen, Fred (The Hammer) Williamson, Efren Herrera, Carlos Mencia, Bobby Grich, Charlie Hough, Ron Masak and Ken Howard.

The Jim Murray SilverRock Alumni Challenge consisted of five-person teams representing colleges and universities from across America competing in a best-ball format using current handicaps. Money was raised to provide seven journalism scholarships to students from colleges and universities. In addition, players from the winning team (University of Maryland) received the honor of having a $5,000 donation made to the university of their choice.
